Delete your account

You can delete your Shumukh account, and the data linked to it, at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent — it cannot be undone.

Delete it in the app

This is the fastest way and needs no waiting:

1. Open the Shumukh app (iOS or Android).
2. Go to Account.
3. Tap Delete account, then confirm on the warning screen.

Your account is removed straight away and you are signed out. The web app offers the same control from the workspace settings.

Delete it by request

If you can no longer sign in, email hello@shumukh.online from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We confirm the request comes from you and complete the deletion within 30 days — usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes:

• your account and sign-in details (email, display name, language preference);
• the events you created, along with their guest lists and RSVPs;
• messages and the activity logs tied to those events;
• any billing records we are not legally required to retain.

Once deleted, your data is removed from our active systems immediately and purged from encrypted backups within 30 days. We do not keep it after that, and we never sell personal data.

What we may keep

We retain only what the law requires — for example, a minimal record of a completed payment for tax and accounting purposes. This is kept for the legally mandated period and is not used for any other purpose.

If you were invited as a guest

Guests who receive an invitation do not have a Shumukh account. If a host invited you and you want your details removed from their event, use the opt-out link in any message they sent you, ask the host directly, or write to hello@shumukh.online and we will help route your request.
